The lab of prof Pelicci at the dept of experimental oncology of IEO is seeking an enthusiastic bioinformatic fellow to work on a project aimed at the characterization of the transcriptional and mutational profile of patient leukemic cells, at single cell level, taking advantage of the recently set up single cell molecule (SCM) omic platform. This platform combines short-read scRNA-seq with long-read Nanopore sequencing of full-length barcoded cDNA. By enabling the coupling of phenotypic and mutational information, this approach will allow to explore the involvement of specific transcriptional variants in clinically relevant cell states, including their effect on the establishment of therapy resistance.
The candidate will have the opportunity to tightly interact with the growing bioinformatic community of the department and will work in tight collaboration with clinicians, thus expanding the scientific background with biological and clinical knowledge. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in single cell sequencing data analysis, and a sound background in cancer research field, as well as the capability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in a multidisciplinary environment.
