Lab Management

The Lab Management Unit’s primary role is to coordinate research activities and services by gathering requests and inquiries from staff and serving as a bridge between maintenance teams and users to promptly resolve any equipment or facility issues.

Following departmental guidelines and specific requirements, the Unit manages the organization of rooms and labs, including assigning benches, positioning instruments, and distributing space in shared areas such as instrument rooms and cold rooms.

It ensures adherence to safety protocols, good laboratory practices, and proper disposal of hazardous waste. The Unit also handles all departmental orders for reagents and consumables, guided by kitchen and warehouse staff recommendations. It tracks order statuses from users to the purchasing office, offers an oligonucleotide ordering service for researchers, and assists Principal Investigators with procurement of small instruments.

By regularly engaging with suppliers of instruments and reagents, the Unit stays up to date on the latest product releases.
